Gabor ‘Gabs’ Dornyei is one of the hottest players – and nicest guys – to emerge out of Europe in recent years. Possibly you heard about him sharing the stage with the likes of Tommy Campbell, Jojo Mayer, Billy Cobham, Gavin Harrison, Ian Paice, Steve Smith, Dom Famularo, Carl Palmer or Chris Coleman, or maybe you caught his wicked ‘Alexander Hedgehog’ solo on Drum-Channel from LA. He’s been on the cover of several European drum magazines and had major features in various others including Modern Drummer Magazine’s current (April/2015) issue. Then there was his 2007 DVD, Gabor Dornyei – Drums, Music and Friends, and in 2011 the DVD Thunder Duo – Kornel Horvath & Gabor Dornyei – with Dom Famularo – which has proven so popular that it has been rereleased in multiple-edition pressing.

Meanwhile, Hudson Music offer it as a download on their site. Gabor is a very successful drum clinician – with credits of the Los Angeles Music Academy(LAMA) University Of Southern California (USC) -invited by Prof. Peter Erskine- and a long list of major UK and European music universities, and also an in demand recording artist, with gold and platinum selling pop-rock albums and sessions for Walt Disney under his belt. Gabor is currently on faculty at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London and recently authored the drum curriculum for the Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME) and DIME-ONLINE which is the first fully online accredited music university in the United Kingdom.

Gabor has participated in the London production of the Michael Jackson Thriller World Tour for three years- seen by over two million people around the globe- and he's a worldwide endorser of ZILDJIAN Cymbals, SONOR Drums, REMO Drum Heads, VIC FIRTH Sticks, TYCOON Percussion, ROLAND V-Drums, HARDCASE and KICKPORT.
