Laurent Biollay is an unavoidable professional musician in Switzerland. This drummer from Lausanne brilliantly plays in many different projects exploring various styles. Rock, hip hop, funk, soul or jazz, he loves the diversity of the techniques and experiences

His advanced studies have allowed him to acquire his present technical level: he studied classical percussions at the conservatory, taking classes with Stéphane Borel, Marcel Papaux and Olivier Clerc.

Thanks to his talent, this relentless hard-working musician is part of diverse successful projects: SENS UNIK (the mythical hip hop band in Switzerland, numerous golden records), A FEW GOOD MEN (the big funk band from Switzerland which he initiated), STRESS (the new hip hop Swiss star, golden record). He is also part of new promising projects like, One Track Live and coloborated with international artistes such as: Phil Collins, Youssou’N Dour, Jermaine Jackson, Mike Rutherford (GENESIS). This allowed him to widely tour all over Switzerland and abroad, in the most prestigious clubs and international festivals (Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, Gurten, Transmusicales in Rennes, Eurosonic (Holland), Open Air St Gallen, Midem in Cannes, Eurockéennes in Belfort, BAM (Barcelona), Printemps de Bourges, New Music Seminar (New York), etc.)

His success and fame have convinced MAPEX DRUMS, SABIAN CYMBALS and PRO-MARK drum sticks to endorse him, and they have been renewing their collaboration for the past 20 years!

Besides this considerable live activity, Laurent Biollay passes on his passion and his technical skills by teaching drums classes in the famous jazz school in Lausanne (EJMA).

Until today Laurent Biollay has kept the same burning passion for music. He always stays curious and connected to new sounds, which enables him to evolve with his time. This accomplished musician is constantly seeking to improve in order to always go further.
